October was the months of “Breast Cancer awareness”. Pink Chain Foundation – kicked off its first ever year-long national campaign to generate awareness and resources to combat Breast Cancer in apt association with Lap’s annual endeavor, ‘Pink Christmas – celebrating the season’s spirit of giving.’ Where The Lap & the Lap Garden came together as one entity to support the noble cause. The chief guest for the evening was Mr. Salman Khurshid, Member of Parliament.
The highlight of the evening saw couture contributed by some of the leading designers in the country – further marking their pledge towards this noteworthy cause through their presence on the ramp along with their creations. This walk of compassion, with breast cancer survivors taking on the ramp, included designers Ritu Kumar, Shantanu & Nikhil, Suneet Verma, Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna, Raghavendra Rathore, Gauri & Nainika, Siddharth Tytler, Ritu Beri, Anjana Bhargava, Anjalee & Arjun Kapoor, Jattinn Kochhar, Charu Parashar, Rajvi Mohan, Shreya, Tahir Sultan Al Essa to name a few, against a backdrop by Master Art ‘AnYahh!!’ Art Gallery. The proceeds from this event will benefit will go to Indian Cancer Society & Make a Wish Foundation. The jewellery for the evening was co-sponsored by Shital Bajaj “The Lotus”.
The evening saw an elite mélange of known faces from the capital-Mr Salman Khurshid, MP, Sunil Sethi(FDCI), Janice Darbari (Ambassador of Montenegro), Freddie (Danish ambassador), H.E Chandradath Singh (High Commissioner Trinidad and Tobago), Mr and Mrs Tibor Kovacs (Director Hungarian Cultural Centre), ZSolt pozsgai (Hungarian movie Director & producer), Jyotsna Govil (Head of Indian Cancer Society & heads other NGOs & Schools as well), AD Singh, Tanisha Mohan, Ramneek Pantal, Sanjay Sharma (Director Swarovski), Aditya Burman(Dabur group), Madhu Sawhney, Ramola Bachchan, Shantanu & Rima Mehra, Nikhil & Vidushi Mehra, Gauri & Nainika, Siddhartha Tytler, Anjalee & Arjun Kapoor, Jattinn Kochhar, Puneet Juneja, Charu Parashar, Rajvi Mohan, Tahir Sultan Al Essa, Priya Jain (Luxor), Kitty & Navneet Kalra, Neera Nath, Gunjita Dhawan, Anu Kant, Vikram Baiydhnath, Anjana Sood Kathulia, Sandeep Dikhit MP, Swati Pandya Sood, Karan Modi , Seems Nagar (Paras Group), Neera Nath, Shital Bajaj(Jewellry designer) and many more.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. AD Singh, co- owner LAP said “Over the years we have supported various activities for the women’s cancer initiative and we thin our customers will enjoy themselves even more this holiday season knowing they are helping support this cause.”
Supporting the cause India’s leading designer Mrs. Ritu Kumar said “It gives me pleasure to be associated with Pink Chain Foundation and contribute towards this cause of creating awareness for breast cancer especially among women in rural areas, who have little or no access to proper detection or cures.”
Designer Mr. Suneet Verma said “I am privileged to be associated with the cause. I feel the woman of today is smart, confident and equipped to deal with all forms of adversity .A little caution and a lot of awareness will lead to a happy and healthy living! I extend my support to this cause and wish PCF all the success in their fight against breast cancer.”
Speaking on the noble cause Gaurav Gupta said “Issues as Breast Cancer need a lot more awareness and Research. I am delighted to be able to contribute towards this cause, even in a humble way.”
Shantanu & Nikhil “As responsible people of the society, we would like to extend our support and contribute towards the fundraiser for the cause of breast cancer and appreciate the efforts made by the Pink Chain Foundation”
Designer Siddhartha Tytler said “Breast cancer is one of the largest causes of death across the world and in many cases people suffering from it aren’t even aware of its symptoms and that to fight it early is imperative- I, Siddartha Tytler pledge my support, in any manner or means possible, towards raising funds and awareness to fight this horrific disease.”
Jattinn Kochhar, Delhi based fashion designer while talking about the cause said “Every moment of our lives we are constantly being tested…tested for our FAITH.Is it that almighty asks of us in return of an open ticket to unite with him?? Every adversity that we face in our lives is a test of our faith and belief…it is the case battling Cancer.
Let’s have faith in his grace and he shall give you the eternal Strength. Let Join hands with Pink chain foundation in passing this test and fighting cancer… Let the body, mind, and thought and our deeds transcend with the test of our faith and belief in the almighty.”
Designer Ms. Anjana Bhargav said “The pink chain foundations endeavor in the fight against breast cancer is commendable. We hope we can add momentum to this movement to help create awareness and support in eradicating this life changing condition.”
Designer duo Gauri and Nainika said “We are very happy to be a part of this event with the Pink Chain Foundation. Creating awareness and raising funds for breast cancer research and for patients is something that we strongly believe in and therefore being able to support this event in any way we can means a lot us.”
Tahir Sultan Al Essa designer who retails his creations out of the Middle East, India and Europe, said “Cancer is an illness that affects more people than would like to admit. I have also lost someone to this illness. I am honored to be associated with this endeavor and I wish the Pink Chain Foundation the very best of luck in their fight against breast cancer.”
