Nachiket Barve Winter Festive 11/12 Collection

[tab:Feed] Nachiket Barve has a talent for picking colours and surfaces and he does it the right way for Spring Summer 2012. The collection could be best described as a floral juxtaposition with soothing prints, where whites have a fair play. Pastel shades have a stronger character in the creations. Graduating from subtle to striking shades, there is a fine sense of lining.
The silhouettes are a mix of western and traditional lines, which makes for a fine display. “Overlay” is the key-word for this season—overlay dresses with tie-belts and also overlay tunics are elements to go for this season. Tasseled Sari with a bikini blouse, Jacket laid over knee length dress and heavy jacket laid over the asymmetric tunic and narrow trouser, dominate the ramp.
There are mini-length dresses, halter-necks and asymmetric dresses. Each of them boast Nachiket’s signature element for this season – Floral appliqués.
The mini dresses are a mixed play of solids and prints. There is a bubbly 3-dimensional effect on jackets. Another eye-catching element is the bling silvery embroidery as a leaf motif. The shades vary from lavender to oranges to greens. The tassels give an added characteristic to solids. Embroidered neck pieces are very well placed over the shapes. The printed tunics are treated differently with light-coloured sleeves.
The designer truly portrays a great sense of aesthetics for this season.
