Renowned designer Payal Jain has showcased her new Spiritually inspired collection Âme – The Soul at Hyatt Regency New Delhi on 15th November 2013.
Payal’s collection inspired by the mystery of divine love & complete surrender, the collection is a reflection of the “inner soul”, the soul which is ageless, invincible, untouched & pure. Though the physical form of the body changes and refashions itself endlessly into ever-evolving personas, the soul lives on from life to life, remaining untouched, eternal and infinite, it is never born and never dies.
Collection is simple yet sensual with romance at the core, rising from the depths of the inner soul, recounting purity.
Interacting with fashiongaze Payal said, “Theme of the collection is soul, very poetic, very spiritual for me it’s not about fashion so I can’t talk about fabric difficult to describe in that sense because even it’s much larger. So whether it’s Rumi, or Buddha, or Christ whichever form of spirituality you follow, I believe there is one Soul and which is born again and again in different body and body goes to that emotion. The whole dance and vocal is all about lifting the Soul beyond the emotion and beyond the physical body. This Collection for me is very spiritual very poetic like thinking a canvas”.
When asked about spiritually inspired collection, she replied, “That was my frame of mind. If you will go in any art exhibition there you will see Artist throwing colour on canvas so that is Artist interpretation. So for me fashion is the medium to express myself. I am thinking all this soul and that is my interpretation”.
“Colour start with black representing anger, depression, orange for me is very jealous, blue is when you are very humble. I have used lot of Georgette, chiffonetc”. further added by Payal Jain.
“Trend for Autumn Winter collection will be lot of gold, silver and orange is very big colour for Spring Summer 2014” , said Payal Jain.
The Collection showcase floating ivory chiffons and milky georgettes, speckled with precious crystals and pearls dancing in abundant joy and happiness in asymmetric layers and fluid, romantic silhouette sometimes clinging to the curves and contours of the body, sometimes flowing freely, like the wild uncontrolled gusts of wind, deep in the heart of the desert.
Treatments are minimal, abstract and the silhouettes explore various horizons from East to West, from North to South, from life to death! Fabrics, textures and weaves blend seamlessly together like the vast spectrum of human emotions – from love to passion, agony to ecstasy, pain, anger, heartbreak and infinite waves of joy, crashing upon the tender heart.
Collection is sculpted in shimmery embroideries and elaborate weaves, interpreted in motifs inspired by peace, serenity, salvation and the draped sensual silks are interspersed with rustic motifs appliquéd in delicate laces, painstaking hand embroideries, brushed with a sprinkling of precious, crystals, pearls and glass beads. The sparkling whites of the sunlit hours blend into the intense hues of orange as if wiping away the landscape with the last ray of the sun, spilling into the midnight blue and the dark black depths of the seductive night.
