The Bride – Asha & Gautam Gupta’s Bridal Collection

Designer duo Asha & Gautam Gupta presented their Autumn Winter 2012 bridal collection- THE BRIDE today at Tapas in the Vasant Continental, Vasant Vihar on 19th September 2012.
With the changing time and fast moving world, bridal wear has also seen a need of some dramatic changes over the era- from umbrella cut and 64 kali’s Lehengas to mermaid style and jacket over Lehenga. Seeing this versatility in choices of the brides of today, the mother- son designer duo presented “THE BRIDES”.The duo has been a part of the industry for the past 15 years. Gautam Gupta, speaking at the event said, “This is a collection of most rich, intricate and crafted work with some modern sensibilities to make ‘The Bride’ look special on her D Day. It is a fusion of gorgeous Indian work with the use of bold colors and materials, giving Indian wear a very fresh new look”
To celebrate this exclusive preview, Delhi’s glitterati joined in. Romola Bachchan, Nasir Abdullah, Dr Shyama Chona ,Jattin Kochar among others were seen during the evening.
Through this unique and exquisite collection by Asha & Gautam Gupta, the Delhi wedding season is bound to be a fabulous array of gorgeous textures, vibrant colours & contemporary designs.
The collection is an assemblage of traditional and western concepts starting from bandhini Lehenga in a fuchsia pink shade with a net stole in moti and stone work to a lemon yellow lucknowi Lehenga with a bright orange stole in a Swarovski to stone work or a pet n point lehenga with sequins and cut dana.
Even in sarees we have some of the finest Upara silk sarees with stylish blouses to concept sarees like Lehenga cum saree and frill saree to drape or fix pleat sarees.
Couture gowns to suit our contemporary bride have been the new addition this season. Some of them are with long jackets and some with lots of flair. We have used a lot of neons, grey and yellow (non-bridal shades) in them to have a different look altogether.
Any wedding trousseau preview can never be complete without Anarkalis so we have them also in our collection the only difference is that we are focusing more on Sharara’s a and A line with dhoti trouser this year to break the monotony.
All rich fabric like Lucknowi, Upara Silk, Georgette, Net, Silk, Tissue, Brocade and chandelier are the main ones.
Colour includes from typical shades of red, fuchsia, emerald green and beige some new colours which are there in trend are crimson, neon, sea green, bright yellow, ice green and light grey.
