Alpana and Neeraj at WIFW S/S 12

[tab:Feed] A whimsical world

The designer duo defied norms to enter a paper like whimsical world, where garments become a second bone cage to protect and solidfy your body. Solid structures moulded out of transparent plastic were juxtaposed with flowing chiffon to create this surreal clothing line. Playfully moulded gilets popped out of mini dresses in soft chiffons making them look as if they were crafted in a laboratory! A range of body-hugging bandage dresses in beige and nude tones exposed the skin at just the right places. They were revealing, but still kept you guessing. Blue and white were colour blocking in an asymmetric floor length dress. Beige and peach dominated the colour palette while teal, yellow and ice-blue was occasionally seen. A pencil plastic skirt with centre front opening was shaped out of transparent plastic. Sheer plastic went on to adorn the bodice in floor length gowns in tones of peach and ice-blue. Hundreds of squarish cuts were pooled using origami techniques to carve out a structural ice-blue gown, which can easily pass off as a couture piece! Looks like the designer duo have successfully explored the unexplored.
